Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a Frio County office. It cannot confirm custody, release an inmate, post bond, approve visits, or pull an official booking record. Use the correct government office or locator for those tasks.

Where to Ask

Frio County uses more than one custody and records path. The sheriff's office is the starting point for local jail custody and booking questions. District court records use the district clerk and the 81st and 218th Judicial District Courts. State, federal, and immigration custody have separate locators.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Use this office for district-clerk records and searches. The open-records email above is identified in the research as applying only to records of the Frio County District Clerk's Office.

For common search needs, use the path that matches the record:

  • For someone in the Frio County Jail, start with jail inmate records, VINELink, or the sheriff's phone number.
  • For a booking photo question, review jail roster mugshots and then ask the sheriff about a Texas Public Information Act request.
  • For charges filed after arrest, use court records after a jail arrest, the district clerk, and the district court docket pages.
  • For a specific facility, use the Frio County Jail, Dolph Briscoe Unit, or Dilley Immigration Processing Center links in the footer.
  • For a sentenced Texas state prisoner, search the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) inmate locator.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator.

VINELink is also available for Texas custody-status notification. It is not a complete archive of past booking records.
